Abstract

This paper presents detailed observations on the sexual dimorphism in Indian fresh water turtle Kachuga tecta (Gray). In this animal carapace, plastron, iris and tail show differential colour patterns in two sexes. Biometric data reveal that the size of carapace and plastron are comparatively more in females than the males while head, neck and tail are comparatively larger in males than the females.
