LINEAR PROGRAMMING MODEL FOR MEDIUM CATEGORY OF FARMS ON SUGARCANE BASED FARMING SYSTEM IN WESTERN REGION OF UTTAR PRADESH

The study was carried out at Department of Agricultural Economics, C.S.A. University of Agricultural and Technology, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The present study was an attempt on “Economic Analysis of Sugarcane Based Farming System in district-Meerut of Uttar Pradesh” To visit the villages with prepared schedule and 120 respondents were selected on the basis of probability proportions to their population Medium farms linear programming model included that net return which was 25.08 per cent higher than the existing farm plan and labour man days 37.01 per cent higher than the existing plan. Overall linear programming model included in optimal plan compare to net return which was 27.03 per cent higher than the existing farm plan and labour man days 65.21 per cent higher than the existing farms plan. Income and employment can be increased through alternative farming plan.
