The dynamism of workshop planning is determined by the totality of events occurring in the production unit for a certain planning period. The jobs sequence in schedule essentially depends not only on the duration and time of their implementation but also on the cost of machines readjustment, their initial setting, workshop schedule, availability of operators, tools wear, schedule of machines maintenance, delivery schedule of materials, and other necessary resources.
In the book, 15 tasks of workshop schedules are described.
To perform them, dynamic schedules with two criteria are developed simultaneously: the first criterion is the timeliness of orders fulfillment, the second criterion is the cost of processing and readjustment of manufactured items. A significant part of the book covers programs for determining the compliance of schedule calendar hours and working hours of machines functioning with regard to the working calendar.
These tasks cover both order planning and in-stock planning; some tasks are typical for discrete production; the other part is for process production. Thus, the proposed calculation method can be used in a wide variety of industries. Presentation of all the tasks in the book is carried out uniformly, which contributes to a simpler familiarization with them.
Each of the 15 tasks is provided with VBA Excel macro plain text. The initial data for each task is recorded on an Excel sheet, and the planning results are also placed there. Almost all tasks are illustrated using Gantt charts, as well as various other charts.
